A Web Browser is software that translates HTML files into documents that integrate text and images. The way the World Wide Web works is that files are kept on servers all over the world and organized into directories. Combinations of letters, numbers, and characters, called URLs, guide your Web browser to retrieve these files and display them. Most Web files also contain links to other Web documents, either on the same server or elsewhere.
There are many different Web browsers available, but it is generally a good idea to use Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, since they have become Internet standards. Older or less-than-full-featured browsers will not be able to read new HTML files correctly.
