Here is a list of questions and answers about creating and using coupons in your ShopSite store.
Coupons apply discounts to products in a your store. When a customer enters a coupon code in the shopping cart or clicks on a coupon link, the coupon gets added to their shopping cart. If the products in the shopping cart qualify for the coupon discount based on the criteria that you established when you created the coupon, then ShopSite applies the discount. The shopping cart shows the coupon as "applied" and lists the discount that the coupon is applying.
No, coupons are not applied automatically. For a coupon to be applied, two things have to be true: 1) The customer must enter the coupon code in the shopping cart or click on the coupon to add it to their shopping cart, and 2) The products in that shopping cart must meet the criteria you specified for the coupon when you created it.
On the Coupon Cart Settings screen, you can limit coupons to only one per order. If you don’t enable that option, more than one coupon can be applied in a shopping cart, based on these rules:
It is very important that you keep track of all unexpired coupons that you have created so that you don’t provide greater discounts than you intended.
Shipping by Currency charges are calculated on the purchase amount before the coupon discount is taken.
Tax is calculated on the purchase amount after the discount is taken.
No, this version of the software does not support this style of coupon. However you can build coupons supporting discounts such as: "10% off all books," "Get $10 off your order if you buy at least 5 books," "Get 15% off any order of at least $100," and "$1 off each CD when you buy 3 or more."

On the Add a Coupon screen, select Yes in the One Time Use option. This will allow the coupon code to be used one time only. You can then send the coupon code or a link to the coupon to the customer for whom it is intended. Although this prevents a coupon from being used more than once, if more than one customer gets and enters the coupon code, only the first one will be honored (even if it wasn't who you wanted it to be).
