OrderAnywhere Linker
The OrderAnywhere Linker is the easiest way to add a ShopSite shopping cart to an existing Web site. It allows you to place an [Add to Cart] button next to each product in your Web site without having to create all your pages in ShopSite. You can use your favorite Web page creation program to create your store's pages, and then use OrderAnywhere to place [Add to Cart] and [View Cart] buttons anywhere on those pages.
With the OrderAnywhere Linker you can:
- Enter the names, prices, and SKUs of all the products in your store into the products database using the Add Product feature.
- Make sure that the program you use for creating Web pages is running.
- From the OrderAnywhere screen, select one or more products from the list and click Show Selected Links. If you want to create buttons for all of your store’s products, just click Show All Links.
- The resulting screen will show the [Add to Cart] and [View Cart] buttons for the products that you selected. Highlight one of the buttons with your mouse and then click on it and drag it from your browser window into the window of your Web page creation program. All [View Cart] buttons are the same for an entire store (unless you specified different text or images), so you only need to drag one onto your page.
- Enter the names, prices, and SKUs of all the products in your store into the products database using the Add Product feature.
- Make sure that the program you use for creating Web pages is running.
- From the OrderAnywhere screen, select one or more products from the list and click Show Selected HTML. If you want to create buttons for all of your store’s products, just click Show All HTML.
- The resulting screen will show the HTML for the [Add to Cart] and [View Cart] buttons for the products that you selected. Use your mouse to highlight the HTML for one button and then copy it and paste it into your Web page creation program. You can replace the button text or image with anything that you want. All [View Cart] buttons are the same for an entire store (unless you specified different text or images), so you only need to paste one onto your page.
- Enter the names, prices, and SKUs of all the products in your store into the products database using the Add Product feature.
- On the OrderAnywhere screen, check the Use SKU instead of record number checkbox.
- Click Generate SKU Database. The next screen contains a list of any products that have no SKU or that have duplicate SKUs. If necessary, edit those products and add or change SKUs, then click the Generate SKU Database button again. Click OK to return to the OrderAnywhere Linker screen.
- Generate the HTML for one product by selecting a product from the list and clicking Show Selected HTML.
- The first string of HTML code on the resulting screen is for the [Add to Cart] button for that product. Select this code and copy it into your Web page creation program. You can use this code to create buttons for any product in your store by changing the &sku= value for each product.
- The second string of HTML code on the screen is for the [View Cart] button for the store. All [View Cart] buttons are the same for a store; they are not different for each product. Copy that string to wherever you want a [View Cart] button to appear.
- Whenever you add products to your store, be sure to go to the OrderAnywhere screen and click Generate SKU Database.
- Enter the names, prices, and SKUs of all the products in your store into the products database using the Add Product feature.
