Working with ShopSite |
Here is a list of questions and answers about associates in ShopSite.
Yes, the associate name is downloaded in the RefName field when you download orders from the Orders or Database Download screens. When you download orders from the Associates screen, the file contains associate names and commissions. See the Associates help for more information.
From the Associates screen, you can download associate orders as a tab-delimited text file or an XML file, and you can then import that file into your check writing program. See the Associates help for more information.
Associate links point to pages in your store, not to specific products. However, you could create a page with just one product on it and use that for the associate link, or you could create a product More Info page and use that for the associate link. Linking to the More Info page will be easier if you specify the More Info Paage File Name when adding the product, since you need to provide that file name when creating the associate link.
Associate links must point to a page in your store. However, you could manually create a page that only contains an HTML redirect to a product link generated by OrderAnywhere. That way the associate link would go to a page in your store which would immediately redirect to your store’s shopping cart with a product already added. You would need to create separate pages for every product that you want to do this with.
You can use any text or an image for the link that is placed in the associate’s site, but you cannot change the URL in the href tag.
Associate links point to specific pages in your store. If you want to create pages for each associate that have unique designs, you can do that, but customers will probably be able to get back to the main page of your store, which will probably have a different design. You cannot present a completely different theme for your store depending on which site the customer is coming from.
You can configure an associate in your ShopSite store to receive 100% of the price of a sale, and ShopSite will calculate the commission that way.
No, ShopSite does not have a fixed limit on the number of associates for a store.
