Different features have been introduced or improved in newer versions of ShopSite. The detail section for each feature identifies the version when the feature was first introduced, as well as the version of the most recent improvement to the feature.
How do I know which version or service level of ShopSite I have?
Log in to your ShopSite back office and look at the main entrance screen. The ShopSite service level and version, along with your StoreID, is displayed below the category buttons, between the large ShopSite logo images. Here's an example of what to look for:

If your store does not include a feature you need, it is easy to upgrade to a higher service level, or even a newer version of ShopSite, without having to re-install or modify your existing store. Contact your hosting provider for information on upgrading your store.

ShopSite Pro's Associates feature allows you to track orders placed by customers referred to your site by affiliates. You can encourage affiliates to link to your site and even list your products on their site in exchange for a commission on all referred sales. When a customer comes to your site through an affiliate link, ShopSite links the customer's shopping cart to the affiliate ID. If the customer makes a purchase, ShopSite will identify the affiliate in the order, and can optionally send an e-mail notification to the affiliate. The Associates feature also allows you to see the order totals and commissions owed to the affiliate. ShopSite Pro allows you to assign global or product-specific Cross-sell products to display on the Shopping Cart screen. If you sell products that are popular together, such as headphones, a charger, and a carrying case for a portable MP3 player, you can assign the products as cross-sell products. When a customer adds the main product (the MP3 player) to the cart, the cross-sell products will be displayed in a "related products" section. You can also create global cross-sell products, such as your best sellers or sale items, which can be displayed in the cart. Global cross-sell products can be displayed only if the product added to the cart has no cross-sell products, or in addition to any product-specific cross-sell products. You can configure which products and information to include in a feed then submit your feed to Google Product Search with the click of a button. You can configure your store to automatically calculate Sales Tax or Value Added Tax (VAT/GST) using the shipping destination postal code. To calculate postal code-based sales tax, you simply assign tax rates based off postal code groups, and ShopSite will calculate the tax on the products in the cart when the customer enters their postal code. Automatic VAT/GST calculation was introduced in ShopSite v10. If you are a European merchant, you can select your country, and ShopSite will automatically configure your VAT rates.
