Working with ShopSite |
Here is a list of questions and answers about the ShopSite shopping cart screen, which is the first screen in the checkout process.
You can set a minimum value for orders, specified in the primary currency of your store. Go to Commerce Setup > Order System and set a value in the Minimum amount an order can be field.
You can control many aspects of the look of the shopping cart by going to Commerce Setup > Order System. You can set the colors for the shopping cart page, change the text at the top and bottom of the page, and enable or disable the optional features on the page. If you want to completely customize the look of the shopping cart, you can create your own shopping cart template.
If you want to let customers enter information that is specific to one product, check the Customer Text Entry box in the Ordering Options for that product. If you want to let customers enter information that applies to an entire order, such as a gift message, go to Commerce Setup > Order System and check the Create customer comments box in the Shipping Screen section.
Yes, you can use the Surcharge feature in ShopSite Pro to offer gift wrapping, or you can sell gift wrapping as a product in your store (and put a link to that product on the shopping cart page). See the next question for instructions on configuring surcharges.
ShopSite Pro allows you to add a surcharge field to the order form. You cannot automatically add surcharges to orders, but you can force customers to make a selection from a list of possible surcharges in the shopping cart. You can use surcharges to offer gift wrapping, additional shipping charges for shipping to foreign countries, or any other purpose. You can configure the surcharge choices to force a selection or to just let customers choose. See the Surcharge Help for more information and a configuration example.
There are only two fields required for configuring surcharges in ShopSite Pro. In the first field you enter text that explains to shoppers what the field is for, such as "Gift Wrapping." In the second field you enter the choices that shoppers can make and the costs for each choice. See the Surcharge Help for more information and a configuration example.
You can change whether the cart is displayed or not in ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager stores. On the Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping Cart screen you can set whether the cart is displayed when a customer clicks an [Add to Cart] button. To not display the cart until the customer clicks a [View Cart] button, do not check the box labeled Default for the "Show me my shopping cart" checkbox and check the box labeled Do not display the the "Show me my shopping cart" check box.
On the Commerce Setup > Order System screen, there is a field called Return to Shopping Button. By default this is set to return the customer to the last store page that was ordered from. You can change this to go to a specific URL instead.
On the Commerce Setup > Order System screen, there is a field called Separate billing address box checked by default. Check this box if you want the shopping cart for your store to always show separate address fields. Uncheck this box if you want only one address field. Customers will always see a checkbox that they can use to switch from one setting to the other.
