Screen: ShopSite > Utilities > Publish
The Publish function processes the changes you've made in ShopSite and regenerates your ShopSite store to reflect those changes. While you are changing the data in your store's databases, your store's outward appearance remains the same until you publish it. This speeds up the process of working in ShopSite.
There are three ways to publish your store after making changes:
Index for Search During Update |
Generate a new product search index. |
Generate Custom Pages During Update |
Read and process all custom page files. |
Generate HTML Pages During Update |
Create all the pages in your ShopSite store using the information in the pages and products databases. |
Maximum Number of Pages for Pagination |
This value sets the maximum number of multi-pages that ShopSite will create for any one page in your database, based on the number of products per generated page defined for that page. This prevents ShopSite from generating too many pages (usually caused by a configuration error). If this limit is reached, any products not yet added to a multi-page will be added to the final page. |
Number of Pagination Links per Page |
This value sets the maximum number of pagination links that will be displayed on a multi-page. If you have more than the set number of multi-pages, only the indicated number of links will be displayed. |
For very large sites, there may be special cases where you want to regenerate only certain sections. For example, if you just uploaded thousands of price changes, only the HTML needs to be updated to show the new prices. You don’t need to reindex for search because no products were added, removed, or moved from the pages they were assigned to.
