Screen: ShopSite > Commerce Setup > Payment
Use the Payment Setup screen to select and configure the methods of payment that you want to accept in your store.
Select the payment methods that your store is prepared to accept by clicking the check marks on or off. Your customers will be able to choose from these payment methods.
If you have a merchant account with a payment processor for real-time credit card processing, select that processor from the list and click Configure Processor to configure your store to work with that processor. If you do not yet have a merchant account, select a payment processor and click Configure Processor, then click the link at the top of the screen to begin the application process.
If you do not plan to offer real-time credit card processing, leave the Processor set to manual. When you use the manual method, you can view or download your store's orders, then validate and process credit card orders off line. You must then go back to the Orders screen and mark the orders that you have shipped.
Remember, if you plan to accept credit cards, you must have a merchant account.
CVV stands for "Card Verification Value," and it is a 3- or 4-digit number that is printed on the back of Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards, usually in the signature box (it is on the front of American Express cards). You can configure any of the payment processors to ask for or require customers to provide the CVV2 number, which can enhance fraud protection, especially for "card not present" transactions. However, many customers won’t know what CVV2 is, so you can use the fields in this section to define a link to pop-up help on the order form.
CVV2 Help Text |
Enter the text to be used as the underlined help link on the order form. |
CVV2 Help URL |
Enter the URL of the CVV2 help page that will pop up when customers click the link on the order form. The default URL points to a short explanation, but you can provide your own explanation by changing this URL. |
Security images are a fraud protection tool used to ensure that the form is being filled out by a person, rather than a script that is testing or using stolen credit card information. You can configure the payment page to always use a security image, or to only add the security image after multiple failed attempts to submit a card, or to never use the security image.
