Inventory Tracking

ShopSite's inventory tracking feature allows you to let ShopSite track the amount of stock you have on hand and notify you of low-stock and out-of-stock conditions, and optionally prevent customers from ordering products that are out-of-stock. If you only want to track some products, you can enable inventory tracking for your entire store, but only activate it for those particular products.

Store-wide Inventory Tracking

Click enabled to turn on inventory tracking for your entire store, or click disabled if you do not want ShopSite to track inventory.

To have ShopSite track inventory for any products, you must enable inventory tracking here, and you must set values for the Inventory Tracking fields on the Add Product or Edit Product screens. If you enable inventory tracking here, but do not set Inventory Tracking values for any products, ShopSite will not track inventory.

Low Stock Notification

Enter the e-mail address, subject, and message that ShopSite should use to send a notice that a product's inventory has reached it's Low Stock Threshold. The body of the e-mail message will also include the product name and the quantity on hand.

ShopSite will only send this message once when the threshold is initially reached. It will not send further messages until the Quantity on Hand has been increased above the Low Stock Threshold.

Out of Stock Notification

Enter the e-mail address, subject, and message that ShopSite should use to send a notice that a product's Quantity on Hand has reached it's Out of Stock Limit. The body of the e-mail message will also include the product name and the quantity on hand.

ShopSite will only send this message once when the threshold is initially reached. It will not send further messages until the Quantity on Hand has been increased above the Out of Stock Limit.

Cannot Order Notification

Enter the e-mail address, subject, and message that ShopSite should use to send a notice that a customer tried to order a product but could not because the Quantity on Hand has reached it's Out of Stock Limit. The body of the e-mail message will also include the product name and the quantity on hand.

ShopSite will send this message every time a customer is prevented from ordering a product that is out of stock, until the Quantity on Hand is increased above the Out of Stock Limit.

Item Unavailable Message

Enter the text that you want customers to see when they cannot order a product because the Quantity on Hand has reached the Out of Stock Limit.

Item Available Message

Enter the text that you want customers to see when they cannot order a product because the Quantity on Hand is less than the quantity that the customer tried to order. You may want to suggest that the customer try reducing the quantity ordered.
