Shipping

ShopSite offers several different options for charging your customers for shipping. No matter what your merchandising strategy, you should be able to find a shipping method that meets your needs. Simply select the shipping method of your choice and then click Configure.

Note:

If you need to charge tax on shipping costs, you can enable that in Commerce Setup > Sales Tax. You should consult a tax expert on this, as shipping charges may or may not be taxable, depending on where your store is located, whether you add a "handling" charge, whether your shipping rates are exact or approximate, and whether passage of title occurs before or after you ship.

ShopSite Shipping Rate Calculations

Select one of the availble methods of calculating shipping costs, then click Configure to specify rates.

You define a table of weights and charges for each shipping method that you enable.
This is the simple table that many mail order catalogs use. The price for shipping corresponds to the total price of the products ordered.
Every order is charged the same rate no matter how many items are in the order. You can specify different rates for different shipping methods.
None
Selecting None if you do not want to display any ShopSite shipping calculations in the shopping cart. You can enable UPS and a Custom Shipping Add-on even if you select None.

Shopping Cart Screen

Select how you would like the available shipping options displayed to customers in the shopping cart.

Display Shipping Options As
ShopSite can display the list of available shipping options as either a pull-down menu or as radio buttons. Pull-down menus take less space and look neater if you offer many shipping methods, but using radio buttons lets the customer see all available methods without having to click an arrow.
