VAT Example

If you set the VAT Choice box to "VAT applies to my store," ShopSite calculates VAT for all products in your store, except for those that you specify as "Exempt from VAT." ShopSite calculates VAT based on the setting of the Price Includes VAT checkbox on the VAT Options page.

Price Includes VAT Enabled

If you have checked the Price Include VAT box, ShopSite takes the price that you set for the product and deducts the correct VAT percentage from it to arrive at the product price without VAT. For example, if you have a $10.00 product with a VAT percentage of 10%, the order form will show the following calculation:

Product Price: $9.09
VAT: $0.91
Total: $10.00

Price Includes VAT Disabled

If you have not checked the Price Includes VAT box, ShopSite adds the VAT percentage to the price of the product. For example, if you have a $10.00 product with a VAT percentage of 10%, the order form will show the following calculation:

Product Price: $10.00
VAT: $1.00
Total: $11.00
