Screen: ShopSite > Commerce Setup > Shipping
ShopSite offers several different options for charging your customers for shipping. No matter what your merchandising strategy, you should be able to find a shipping method that meets your needs.
Select the method of your choice in the pull-down menu, then click Change. You will be given the option of setting shipping charges for ground, second day, and next day shipping. You can also enable additional shipping types by checking the boxes next to their names. (You can set the names for all shipping types in Preferences > Store Text > Shipping.) If you do not want to support one or more of these shipping types, uncheck the box next to it.
Shipping by Weight |
If you choose this method, you must also enter a weight for each individual product - this weight field appears on the Add New Product and Edit Product Info pages (advanced editing). ShopSite adds up the total weight for all products in an order and charges the shipping amount set here in the table. You should include decimals in the weight ranges in the table, such as 0-3.99 and 4-5.99.
You must use the same unit of weight for all products, such as pounds or kilograms. It is best to use the same unit of weight that is used by your shipping agencies, such as pounds in the U.S. |
Shipping by Currency |
This is the simple table that many mail order catalogs use. The price of shipping corresponds to the total price of the products ordered. If you would like orders over a certain level to be free (to stimulate large purchases), you may do so by specifying $0.00 as the amount.
ShopSite adds up the total cost for all products in an order and charges the shipping amount set here in the table. You should include decimals in the price ranges in the table, such as 0-10.00 and 10.01-20.00. |
Flat Shipping |
Every order is charged the same rate no matter how many items are in the order. |
None |
If you don’t need customers to specify the shipping method during checkout you can tell ShopSite to not prompt for Shipping. |
