Here is a list of questions and answers about cross sell products.
Cross sell is a way to associate one or more products with a primary product so that the associated products are displayed along with the primary product throughout the store. You can use cross-sell to encourage your customers to buy accessories with a primary product (such as paper with a printer) or to sell variations of the main product, such as different sizes of the same product. For instructions on configuring either of these arrangements, see the Select Cross Sell help.
Once you add cross sell products to a primary (main) product, the price and [Add to Cart] button for the main product are no longer displayed. To be able to sell the primary product, you must add it to itself as a cross sell product. To do this, select the primary product from the list of products and click Select Cross Sell. From the list of products on the next screen, select the name of the primary product and the names of all other products that you want associated as cross sell products to the primary product. Click Save Changes and Publlsh your store.
When you assign products as cross sell products to another product, only the description of the primary product is displayed. If you want customers to be able to read the description of the cross sell products, you must put them on pages separately from the primary product.
Yes, you can use ordering options with cross sell products, but not with the primary product (unless you add the primary product as a cross sell to itself). Also, if you choose to display the ordering options on your store pages, the layout might look a little messy.
