Screen: ShopSite > Commerce Setup > Payment > Configure Processor
PayPal Commerce Buttons allow you to accept payments from customers with PayPal accounts. To use this feature requires a PayPal business account.

In your PayPal Account Settings, go to Business Information and click Update to provide as many details as possible. Also, under Account Settings > Account Owner Information ensure all required information is provided.

Press the Connect button to sign into PayPal and begin the setup process. Follow the PayPal prompts until you are returned to the ShopSite screen where the Client ID, Client Secret, Merchant ID and Merchant ID in PayPal will have been pre-populated. No further modifications to these fields are needed on your part.

Some merchants have had trouble with the initial Connect process when using the Firefox browser. If you experience problems, try a Chrome browser and wait several seconds between steps when Connecting or re-Connecting during the initial setup. Once setup, Firefox will work for both shoppers and merchants.

From the Commerce Setup screen, select Payment, then scroll down and click the Payment Name radio button, then click Configure Processor. You will see a screen with the following fields:
Host |
Will be set to Production. The merchant cannot change this setting. |
Client ID |
This value is automatically filled in when you Connect or Re-Connect to PayPal. |
Client Secret |
This is an encrypted value and only dots will be displayed. This value is automatically filled in when you Connect or Re-Connect to PayPal. |
Merchant ID |
This is your PayPal account. This value is automatically filled in when you Connect or Re-Connect to PayPal. |
Merchant ID in PayPal |
This is an alphanumeric value returned by PayPal. This value is automatically filled in when you Connect or Re-Connect to PayPal. |
Order Transaction Type |
Select whether to use Authorize and Capture (Sale) or Authorize (authorize only) mode when processing payments. If you must prepare products for shipping, you should use authorize only mode, then when your products are ready to ship, you can capture the funds from the Orders screen. |
Display PayPal Credit Checkout Button |
Select this to allow shoppers to pay by credit. |
Configure PayPal Credit Messaging |
If you have turned on displaying the PayPal Credit button, you can click this link to open a new tab and go to the Promoting PayPal Credit page to determine where credit messages are displayed and their style. |
Button Style |
Indicate the PayPal button color and shape to display. |
Display Error Details |
Check this box to have detailed error messages appear when a PayPal error occurs during the order processing. Typically, you only want this on to trouble-shoot a reported error. |
Fill in the proper values and click Save and Enable.
