Getting Started with ShopSite |
ShopSite offers several different options for charging your customers for shipping. No matter what your merchandising strategy, you should be able to find a shipping method that meets your needs.
UPS Shipping |
(ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager) ShopSite can provide your customers with real-time UPS rate and service information in the shopping cart. As the merchant you can select the services that you want to offer (UPS Ground, Second Day Air, etc.). Your customers can see the rates for those services based on the weight of the order and the destination zip code, and then choose which service they want. |
Custom Shipping Add-on |
(ShopSite Pro) ShopSite can use a third-party add-on product to obtain shipping costs, and then display them in the shopping cart. For example, there is an add-on module available to obtain real-time rate quotes for United States Postal Service shipping. |
Simple Shipping by Weight |
You assign a shipping weight to each product, and define a rate table based on the total shipping weight for each order. |
Shipping by Currency |
This is the simple table that many mail order catalogs use. The price of shipping corresponds to the total price of the products ordered. If you would like orders over a certain level to be free (to stimulate large purchases), you may do so by specifying $0.00 as the amount. |
Flat Shipping |
Every order is charged the same rate no matter how many items are in the order. |
Flat Base Each Shipping |
(ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager) Every order is charged a flat base rate plus an additional charge for each product in the order. Larger orders are charged higher shipping. This is an especially good system if all your products are approximately the same weight and size. |
Flat Each Shipping |
(ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager) A flat shipping rate is charged for each item. |
Base Shipping |
(ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager) If you choose this method, ShopSite lets you set a shipping charge for each product. The customer is charged the total of all the individual shipping charges or a minimum shipping charge, whichever is greater. |
Base Plus Shipping |
(ShopSite Pro and ShopSite Manager) If you choose this method, ShopSite lets you set a shipping charge for each product. The customer is charged the total of all the individual shipping charges plus the base shipping charge. |
None |
If you don’t need customers to specify the shipping method during checkout you can tell ShopSite to not prompt for Shipping. |
