Enabling New Features in ShopSite 8.x

In some ShopSite malls or shared CGI installations, some merchants may want to upgrade to ShopSite 8.x while others may not want to pay the upgrade fee. Although all stores that share ShopSite CGIs will be upgraded to ShopSite 8.x at the same time, some of the major new features in ShopSite 8.x are not automatically enabled. Stores that do not have the new features enabled will not be charged an upgrade fee. These features include:

• Reward Program
• Tell A Friend
• PayPal Website Payments Pro

Upgrading the Mall

Follow the instructions for upgrading to upgrade the ShopSite CGIs. This will upgrade the mall to the new version, but will not upgrade the individual stores.

Upgrading Individual Stores

1. After the mall has been upgraded to the new version, the store.auth file was renamed to store.bak. In order to upgrade the individual stores, you will need to rename the file to store.auth.
2. Run wwwinstall.cgi in your Web browser.
3. From the ShopSite Install Menu, select Mall Feature Administration and click the Continue button.
4. On the Enable New Features screen, select the name of the store you want to upgrade from the pull-down menu.
5. Select the Enable radio button.
6. Click on Update Store to save the change.
7. To upgrade another store, repeat steps 4-6. Any stores you do not enable new features for will continue to operate with the new features disabled.
