Working with ShopSite |
Here is a list of questions about using pictures and other media in your ShopSite store.
Yes, you can use music and other media besides graphics in your store, though they are best used with discretion. You can use the Upload an Image function to upload music and video and other media files to your store’s media directory. ShopSite does not have any buttons or other built-in functions for using those files in your store, so you must manually add the code required to play them.
Go to Images and and select the new images in the list, then click Reset Image Attributes. Publish your store to make the changes visible to your customers.
Go to the Images section of ShopSite and select the images in the list, then click Reset Image Attributes. That will cause ShopSite to apply a standard set of attributes to the images, and one of those attributes removes the border.
ShopSite does not contain a built-in utility for creating thumbnail images. Many graphics programs can do this automatically, or you can just save the original image in a smaller size and give it a different file name. A nice size for thumbnails is 100x100 pixels. You can also use a utility for making thumbnail images, such as:
Using thumbnail images on your product pages and larger images on More Info pages is a simple, three-step process:
Repeat these three steps for all products that will have thumbnail images, and then publish your store.
ShopSite back office screens do have Alt text for each button image, but your browser may not be set to display that text while images are downloading. In Internet Explorer, this feature is turned off by default (who knows why?). To turn it on, in Internet Explorer click on Tools > Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Multimedia section, then check the box for "Show image download placeholders."
