How Do I Arrange the Products in My Store?
Pages provide the structure and organization in your ShopSite store. The Store Setup Wizard created the first page in your store, which displays your store name and is like the display window in a brick-and-mortar store. You probably added at least one other page while going through the wizard, and you most likely assigned one or more products to it.
Here are some ideas for using pages in your store:
- Create a page for each category or subcategory of products that you sell. For example, if you sell sporting goods in your store, you could have one page for each sport, or pages for winter sports and summer sports. Don’t forget that you can display a product on more than one page, so snowboards could appear on the "Snowboarding" page and also on the "Winter Sports" page.
- Create More Information pages to provide product details. You can put smaller pictures and brief descriptions on your regular product pages (so that the pages load faster for your customers), and then provide more/larger pictures and longer descriptions on the More Information pages.
- Create an "About Us" page to tell customers about the mission of your business.
- Create a "Contact Us" page to provide customers with telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and physical addresses for your store, such as customer service and product returns.
- Create a "Customer Service" page in which you explain the hours of your customer service department, how to contact them, and how to return products.
After assigning products to pages, you can use the Arrange Items feature to set the order in which they are displayed on each page.
