Screen: ShopSite > Utilities > Publish
Publish
The Publish function processes the changes you've made in ShopSite and regenerates your ShopSite store to reflect those changes. While you are changing the data in your store's databases, your store's outward appearance remains the same until you publish it. This speeds up the process of working in ShopSite.
There are three ways to publish your store after making changes:
- The Publish tab on the right side of the ShopSite will pop up when you have made changes but have not yet published your store. Click the Publish tab to publish your store. This method only processes changes to your store.
- If you click on the button and have not published the store since making changes, you will be given the opportunity to do so before you go to your store.
- Click on the Regenerate button on the Publish screen in the Utilities section of ShopSite.
When you use this method, you have more control over exactly what publishing functions ShopSite performs. In addition to regenerating the entire store, you can tell ShopSite to regenerate only the areas you specify:
just the HTML pages,
just the Custom Pages,
just the reindexing for searching,
or any combination of the three.
For very large sites, there may be special cases where you want to regenerate only certain sections. For example, if you just uploaded thousands of price changes, only the HTML needs to be updated to show the new prices. Re-indexing so that searches can find a product is not necessary because no products were added, removed, or changed from the pages they were assigned to.
